Favorite series is A Series of Unfortunate Events, or the Resident Evil book series.
Favorite book has to be City of The Dead... I need to read some other ones off of my shelves that look really good though. But at the moment, City of The Dead hands down. The Resident Evil one... Haha.

By R.L. Stine
*and pretty much most of that series.*

For series, like Matt mentioned, Goosebumps, Captain Underpants and Harry Potter. For a single book, I love Tears of a Tiger. Its a really good story.
